Lawyer Marat Atovmyan, member of the Board of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, participates in the meeting of the EU-Armenia Civil Society Platform in Brussels.
In his report, Mr. Atovmyan talked about the situation in the Republic of Artsakh, the passiveness of the international community in relation to it, the dangers of opening the corridor through Akna and the problems of the Armenian justice system, in particular the overloading of the courts, the contradicting application of the same legal norms by judges, the use of violence and pressure on lawyers and other issues.
The speech of the member of the Board of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association was received positively by the representatives of EU countries participating in the event. Meetings in various EU bodies are also planned during the event.
