On 16 October, 2017, a discussion of the RA Draft Law on Voluntary Activities and Voluntary Work and the Draft legislative package on Making Amendments to a Number of Draft Laws issuing from it took place at the office of the “National Center for Legislative Regulation” Foundation. Representatives of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Diaspora Ministries, Advocates of the Armnian Lawyers’ Association Syuzanna Soghomonyan and Mariam Zadoyan as well as representatives from other non-governmental organizations attended the discussion.
In the opinion of the ALA representatives, the above legal acts need to be amended to make them an effective working tool for volunteers in NGOs. In addition, it is important to set the conditions for concluding a contract with the volunteer in case of voluntary work within a given NGO more than the certain amount of time.
