At the end of the Outreach Course of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders, the young audience formed an Official’s Declarations’ Group to analyze the declarations of officials within the framework of the project.
The group included lawyers and teachers from Yerevan, Gegharkunik and Lori marzes. Despite the difficulties due to the distance, the group managed to do everything properly.
According to Eva Sukiasyan, the coordinator of the Declaration’s Group, the group work was of a theoretical-educational nature, as they completely mastered the legislation on declaration institute, the international experience and legal practice. Moreover, the work was of a practical nature, as, in fact, the group performed the function of the Corruption Prevention Commission.
“As a future lawyer, I attach great importance to the introduction of anti-corruption values in our daily life and at the core of each of our professional activities. The choice of the topic on which we were to implement our program was one of the most intimate spheres close to me. Besides, the difficult military-political situation in the country guided us more clearly. We analyzed the declarations in the field of defense, selecting the 10 most famous and discussed officials,” Eva Sukiasyan said, and added that there are many problems, but continuous improvement of general awareness. As a result, it will be possible to minimize the evil called corruption.
It should be reminded that the program is implemented with the support of the Swedish Government.
