The First Meeting of the Public Council under the Minister of Internal Affairs Took Place – ALA Included in the Council

On March 10, under the leadership of Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, the inaugural meeting of the Public Council attached to the Ministry was held. The Minister congratulated the Council members, emphasizing that their professional expertise would contribute to the effective implementation of the Ministry’s policies through joint discussions.

During the meeting, the progress of the strategic measures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in 2025 was presented, including the activities of subordinate bodies such as the Police of the Republic of Armenia, the Rescue Service of Armenia, and the Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia, as well as the Armenia–EU visa liberalization process, in which the Ministry plays a coordinating role.

The discussions also touched on crime prevention. The importance of fostering a unified public rejection of criminal subcultures was highlighted.

Other topics discussed included the development of communication skills among Ministry staff, professional retraining, combating domestic violence, and public awareness campaigns.

Notably, the Council includes organizations such as the Armenian Lawyers’ Association. ALA Vice President Marat Atovmyan attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The discussions during the session were active and comprehensive.
