Syuzanna Soghomonyan on Regulations for Surrendering Impermissible Gifts to the State or Community

As part of the “Let’s Unite Forces to Prevent Corruption” campaign, Syuzanna Soghomonyan, representative of the Armenian Lawyers Association (ALA) and Armenian CSOs’ Anti-Corruption Coalition, and anti-corruption expert, spoke today, December 6, during a panel discussion titled “Existing Mechanisms on Gift Acceptance Restrictions and Recent Legislative Changes” and “Elements of the Integrity System.”

The panel discussion was organized through the efforts of the USAID-funded “Armenia Integrity” project and the Ministry of Justice.

Syuzanna Soghomonyan particularly emphasized the methods of gift disposal, which are presented in the Government decision adopted this year. According to it, if the value of gifts exceeds the permissible threshold, they can be used in certain ways. However, for all gifts that are perishable or fall under immediate realization categories, the State Property Management Committee provides the conclusion regarding preservation rules.
