The first Summit of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) was held in Vienna, Austria, from November 19-21, 2024.
Over the course of three days, more than 200 civil society representatives discussed regional challenges and opportunities with officials from the European Union, EU member states, and Eastern Partnership countries. During the Summit, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell delivered a message to the participants.

One of the discussions focused on the EaP CSF Resolution. Working in groups, delegates reviewed and discussed positions that defined civil society and EaP CSF advocacy priorities for the next year, as well as outlined the future of the EaP policy.
The Republic of Armenia was represented at the Summit by delegates from the Armenian National Platform. Syuzanna Soghomonyan, a delegate representing the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, spoke as a panelist on the topic “How to hold governments accountable amidst crackdowns.” She presented the state of civic space in Armenia, possible challenges and ongoing processes, as well as the pressure and threats against human rights defenders and media representatives.
