ALA Board Adopts Statement on COP29 in Azerbaijan

The Armenian Lawyers’ Association (ALA) Board held its regular meeting electronically on July 31.

All five Board members participated: Karen Zadoyan, Arpine Yeghikyan, Marat Atovmyan, Astghik Matinyan, and Karen Kocharyan.

The meeting’s agenda focused on adopting a statement regarding the decision to hold COP29 in Azerbaijan, a topic previously discussed by the Board.

The ALA Board’s statement expresses deep concern over the decision to host the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Azerbaijan from November 11-22, 2024. The Board deems this decision incompatible with COP’s goals and values.

The Board unanimously approved the statement for adoption and international dissemination.
