On August 23, 2024, in Armavir community, within the framework of the “Strengthening the mechanisms for protecting the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh” program, the Program’s lawyer provided free legal advice to forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh.
During the meeting, the Program’s lawyer Marianna Avagyan presented the armrights.am electronic platform created within the framework of the Program. She explained in detail the essence and significance of each section of the website. Additionally, Avagyan demonstrated how to submit an application and track its progress using the provided code.
Several issues concerning Artsakh people were also clarified, mainly related to social support programs provided to forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, the state support program for housing provision for forcibly displaced families, procedures for restoring birth certificates and marriage certificates, conditions and terms for assigning old-age work pensions, and grounds for recalculating pensions.
Julietta Arustamyan, the chairperson of the management board of the NGO network for the protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh and executive director of the “Harmony” Shushi Women’s NGO, also participated in the meeting.

The “Strengthening the mechanisms for protecting the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh” program is implemented by the Armenian Lawyers Association in cooperation with the “Harmony” Shushi Women’s public organization, within the framework of the “Monitoring of Justice Sector Reforms in Armenia” (Juremonia) project funded by the European Union. The overall objective of the program is to promote the integration of forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh in their new communities of residence in Armenia by strengthening the mechanisms for protecting their rights, raising the level of legal awareness of their rights and access to justice and protection.
