Today, the management staff of “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project met with the President and the notaries of the Notarial Chamber of the Republic of Armenia
During the meeting Mr. Karen Zadoyan, “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project Manager presented the project implemented with the financials support of the European Union.
“We have submitted a project, which should strengthen the civil society organizations. We had selected justice, business and education sectors as targets of our project, but after discussions and consultations with the EU we decided to expand the scope of the sectors and currently the issue of six additional sectors is under the discussion. It is expected that through discussions with the actors of justice sector and raising the problems that exist in the sector the issues of the sector would be identified. After that the scenarios for the solution of the problems would be developed. Further, the expert discussions will identify the main realistic scenarios around which the concepts and the action plan for their solution will be elaborated,” Mr. Zadoyan said.
Ms Vanine Hovsepyan, the President of the Notarial Chamber of the Republic of Armenia, welcomed the representatives of “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project and expressed willingness for cooperation. “As in all sectors, there are problems in our sector as well. And the first problem is the problem of awareness, including the awareness on fees for the services rendered by the notary and the state fees,” Ms Hovsepyan said.
During the meeting the notaries raised and discussed a number of issues, including the issue of amplification of the self-management of the Notarial Chamber, and inadequate awareness level in border areas and issues related to general lack of awareness of citizens living in the regions.
The parties agreed to continue such discussions and to enhance existing cooperation in future as well
