On 24 June, a course on participatory budgeting and its legal basis was held within the framework of the “Budgets for Citizens” Project.
Legal Expert of the Project, representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association Ms Syuzanna Poghosyan, delivered a lecture.
At the beginning of the training the participants filled in the preliminary knowledge verification test developed by the ALA representative.
Further the ALA representative held a multi-content discussion with both young professionals and representatives of CSOs and Mass Media regarding the goals, principles, and legal bases of the participatory processes at the state and local levels.
The lecture and discussion were followed by the performance of group and practical work by the participants, which was aimed at strengthening the knowledge gained during the course and to use that knowledge through raising real problems.
At the end of the training the participants completed a final knowledge test to assess the effectiveness of the course and the level of growth of the knowledge.
The course is conducted in a hybrid method, in face-to-face and online (remote) formats, with the aim of giving young professionals and representatives of CSOs and Mass Media from distant marzes the opportunity to participate in the courses and have their input in the improvement of the sector.
The “Budgets 4 Citizens” (B4C) action (8 December, 2022 – 7 December, 2026) is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, in cooperation with partners “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic).
