On 3 May, a working discussion regarding the review of the list of corruption crimes defined by Annex 1 of the RA Criminal Code and the investigation subordination of these crimes with participation of the state bodies and representatives of the public sector was held in the RA Ministry of Justice
The “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO has presented a proposal for discussion at the upcoming meeting of the Anti-Corruption Policy Council. In particular, reference was made to the corruption crimes defined by the UN “Convention against Corruption”, the list of corruption crimes stipulated by the RA Criminal Code, as well as the assessments provided by the OECD as a result of the 3rd and 4th rounds of evaluation of Armenia were presented as well.
Mr.Karen Zadoyan, the President of the Armenian Lawyers Association, representatives from the Judicial Department, the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Anti-Corruption Committee were present at the discussion.
As a result of the meeting, it was proposed to revise the list of corruption crimes and accordingly, the investigative subordination, considering the international standards and domestic needs as a basis.
At the end of the meeting, it was decided to conduct multilateral research and continue working discussions to resolve the raised issues.
