Position՝ Lawyer
Location: Yerevan
Description: “JUREMONIA. Within the framework of the “Monitoring of Justice Sector Reforms in Armenia” program, the program “Strengthening the mechanisms for the protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh” is implemented, which began at the beginning of February 1, 2024, and will last for 12 months. The Organization (ALA) is looking for a qualified specialist to fill in the vacancy position of a lawyer.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal assistance to persons forcibly displaced from Artsakh and considered vulnerable (socially insecure, unemployed, disabled, student, woman, etc.) for solving problems with state and local self-government bodies online, through on-site visits and in office.
- Provide legal advice to NGOs dealing with the protection of the rights of persons forcibly displaced from Artsakh.
- Provide legal support to CSOs network established by CSOs dealing with legal issues and protection of the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh.
- Develop proposals for changes in public policies for the purpose of protecting the rights of forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh, combining national and international experience and implementation of their advocacy.
- Compile other written legal documents.
- Participation in professional events.
- Perform other program activities.
Requirements
- 4th year Bachelor of Laws student or Bachelor of Laws qualification or Master’s degree student.
- Excellent knowledge of the Armenian language, knowledge of English or Russian will be considered an advantage.
- Computer Skills (Excel, Word and Power Point).
- Ability to work in team.
- Ability to work and deliver services under pressure and workload.
Professional experience will be considered an advantage.
Salary on contractual basis.

About Project
The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the integration of FDPs from NK into their new communities of residence in Armenia by strengthening their rights protection mechanisms.
The specific objectives are: Comprehensively addressing the legal challenges faced by FDPs from NK; Enhancing access to justice and strengthening protection of the rights of FDPs from NK; Elevating the level of legal awareness of FDPs from NK regarding their rights.
