On 24 February of this year, the European Union together with the RA Ministry of Finance organized a donor coordination meeting in the Public Finance Management (PFM) field). The event was aimed to support discussions, knowledge exchange and activities between the Ministry of Finance and the donor community in the PFM field in order to provide more targeted and sustainable support to PFM reforms in Armenia.
President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association (ALA) Mr. Karen Zadoyan, “Budgets 4 Citizens” Project Manager, took part in the meeting as well. In his speech, Mr. Zadoyan highlighted the importance of promoting an inclusive and transparent budgetary process in Armenia with the participation of civil society and strengthening the participation of civil society in state budget processes. The ALA President also briefly presented to the participants of the meeting the four-year “Budgets 4 Citizens” program, which currently is implemented by the ALA, in partnership with the “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic) with the financial support of the European Union.
