On 20 December, at the Kapan office of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, the participants of the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project watched two films, one about the life and struggle of Nelson Mandela and the other about Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States Ruth Ginsbug.
Speaking about the program, Vache Baghdasaryan, a lawyer at the ALA Kapan office, said that the screening was organized within the framework of the anti-corruption education process for students.
One of the peculiarities of this program is that in addition to the law students young people from various fields, and high school students participate in it..
The participant of the event, Milena Baghdasaryan, a student of Kapan High School No. 2, mentioned that the film about Ruth Ginsburg’s struggle teaches people to fight for their rights, that women can also take an active part, to be pioneers in the field of human rights protection. She added that in the future she is going to become a lawyer, to protect the violated rights of the people.
Diana Hayrapetyan, a student at Kapan High School No. 9, emphasized the importance of protecting women’s rights, noting that women and men should be equal; there should be no discrimination between women and men.
It should be noted that the program is implemented in the framework of the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project supported by the Government of Sweden, which will be accomplished in December.
