Meeting with the Prosecutor of Shirak Region
On 26 November, 2020, within the framework of the “Youth for Anti-Corruption” project implemented by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, the representatives of the association, members of the Shirak Anti-Corruption Student Club met with the Prosecutor of the Shirak Region Prosecutor’s Office, Arthur Mnoyan.
The representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association Gayane Gevorgyan made a welcoming speech at the meeting. Prosecutor Arthur Mnoyan greeted the participants as well.
During the meeting, Prosecutor A. Mnoyan presented the phenomenon of corruption, its definition. He presented in detail the role of the RA Prosecutor’s Office in the fight against corruption, the functions of the Anti-Corruption Department also were detailed; the actions defined by the law on return of illegally acquired property and the peculiarities of the criminal case were touched as well. In his speech, A. Mnoyan especially emphasized and noted the function of the newly formed Anti-Corruption Committee and positively assessed it. Arthur Mnoyan finished his speech by talking about the institution of receiving bribes and mentioned the incentive norm, which refers to the person who gives a bribe, if the latter informs about giving a bribe within the defined period.
The participants attached importance to such meetings in the fight against corruption.
At the end of the meeting, the representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association Gayane Gevorgyan thanked the Prosecutor of the Shirak Region Prosecutor’s Office Arthur Mnoyan for the informative meeting and noted the importance of future cooperation.
