The final oral round of the Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students and Young Lawyers “The Republic of Armenia Constitution on the Way of Establishment of the Civil Society,” which was organized by the Armenian Young Lawyers Association and the Center for Public Dialogue and Development, was held in Golden Tulip Yerevan Hotel at 11 a.m., on 25 October 2006. The Conference was supported by the Law Foundation of Armenia and “LEGAL ALLIANCE” Law Firm. The Conference was aimed at raising the level of the legal awareness and the legal consciousness of the young lawyers on the Constitutional changes and the legal amendments, which followed these changes, as well as to promote realization of professional studies in this sphere by the young lawyers. The Conference provided opportunity to analyze the provisions of the Constitutional changes and their possible effect on the establishment of the civil society in the Republic of Armenia.
The Conference had two rounds: written and oral. 39 people, students and graduates from the law schools of Yerevan and from the regions, as well as young lawyers from different state and private entities had applied for participation in the conference by 23 September 2003, in accordance with the approved schedule. 19 applicants introduced their reports in time. In compliance with the official rules of the conference the authors of the six best reports presented their papers, which were evaluated by a panel of well-known Armenian lawyers and judges. The winners received valuable prizes.

The collection of the theses of 4 best reports of the First Republican Scientific Conference for the Law Students “The Republic of Armenia Constitution on the Way of Establishment of the Civil Society” was published after the Conference. In their reports the authors touched the amended provisions of the RA Constitution and the legislative and judiciary reforms issuing from them. They introduced their opinions and suggestions on the improvement of the existing legislation as well. The collection of theses was distributed among the lawyers.
