International Legal Instruments in the Fight against Corruption: Training at the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders

On 26 March, 2020, the 5th lecture of the distance learning course of the 5th stream of the Anti-Corruption School of Young Leaders took place. The topic of the training was “International Legal Instruments and Anti-Corruption Formats”. Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan, a lawyer and anti-corruption expert at the Armenian Lawyers’ Association was the speaker.

Syuzanna Soghomonyan presented the role of each structure playing a great role in the fight against corruption and the legal instrument offered by the latter to the states to carry out an effective fight against corruption. She particularly attached importance of the following international anti-corruption agencies: the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN) OECD  and the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO). etc. Reference was made to international anti-corruption agreements as well.

During the training, the results of the tasks performed by the listeners were discussed as well, and at the end the listeners received their first group assignment.
