Training on “National System of Integrity” for Lori marz CSOs, Lawyers and Law Students

On 7 February, 2020, training-seminar on “National System of Integrity” was organized in Lori Branch of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association Non-Governmental Organization. The training was attended by representatives of NGOs, lawyers and law students of Lori Marz, with a total of 11 participants.

Zarine Hovhannisyan, Lawyer/Program Coordinator of Vanadzor Office of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, delivered a welcoming speech. She thanked the participants for their presence and presented the ALA for Modernization project. In which scope similar on-going training to build the capacity of CSO coalitions, advocates and lawyers will be provided.

At the beginning, the presentation, on  the National System of Integrity, the nature and the elements characterizing it, particularly reflecting on transparency, accountability, professionalism, ethics descriptions took place. Further the participants were presented the concept of corruption and its prevention mechanisms, the anti-corruption strategy and action plan for its implementation in 2019-2022, in the adoption of which the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia had a great involvement and influence.

At the end of the seminar, the participants addressed questions to the speaker on the components of the national integrity system, the concept of corruption and its prevention mechanisms, the anti-corruption strategy, as well as valued the new knowledge, highly appreciating the importance and effectiveness of the training. The evaluation sheet of the event is available here.

Notably, the trainings will be continuous and seminars will be organized on a regular basis on specific themes aimed to promote proper organization and capacity building of CSOs.
