ALA Representatives participated in the Conference “Current Challenges and Opportunities for the Procedural and Institutional Framework of Lawyers’ Activities”

On  December 10 and 11, Artyom Mesropyan, CSO Development Program Coordinator of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association of NGO and Lusine Nalbandyan, Representative of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association participated at the First Working Meeting of the Technical Commission of the Regional Project “Strengthening the Profession of Lawyer in Line with European Standards” organized in the framework of the “Partnership for Good Governance 2019-2021” Ptoject co-funded by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe, and in the Conference “Current Challenges and Opportunities for the Procedural and Institutional Framework of Lawyers’ Activities” organized in the scope of the project.

The first meeting of the Project Technical Committee discussed the activities carried out in the since the launch of the project in July 2019 till December and the work plan and planned actions for January-June 2020 of the program.

The following day, at the beginning of the conference, Gonzalo Serrano, Head of Cooperation Section of the European Delegation to Armenia, delivered a speech, Natalia Vutova, Natalia Vutova, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Yerevan, Deputy Minister of Justice Christine Grigoryan and other officials, presented and discussed the preliminary version of the comparative analysis of the procedural and institutional format of advocates activity in five participating countries; the finalized version will be sent to the meeting participants in January next year

Representatives of legal unions and associations of the five countries (Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) involved in the program attended the conference.
