Ms Mariam Zadoyan, Advocate, Anti-Corruption Expert at the Armenian Lawyers’ Association in the interview with Mediamax.am talked about the New Draft RA Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan for its implementation in 2019-2022.
According to her, the document needs radical changes, in particular:
- it is necessary to create a universal independent anti-corruption body,
- introduce effective mechanisms for identifying the beneficial owners,
- improve the system of declaration of property and income of the officials;
- provide for effective mechanisms for the protection of whistleblowers.
On the positive side, Mariam Zadoyan highlighted the provision of a relevant anti-corruption compliance program as a positive side of the draft.
