On December 12, Mr. Artyom Mesropyan, the representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association attended the second roundtable discussion with the representatives of civil society, organized by the “Mining Legislation Reform Initiative” (MLRI) of the AUA Center for Responsible Mining”.
The second round table discussion is part of the MLRI’s stakeholders’ engagement and policy-making process aimed at identifying, documenting and prioritizing the key issues of mining. The process will lead to the publication of a mining industry concept at the beginning of 2019, which is aimed at implementing legislative reforms in Armenia’s mining sector involving responsible environmental, economic, social and labor rights policy directions.
