Susanne Soghomonyan, Lawyer at the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, said in a conversation with “Arajin Lratvakan” that there are several bodies to fight corruption in Armenia: the NSS, the Investigative Committee, the SIS, the SRC, with its tax and customs investigation divisions. But a Corruption Prevention Commission is currently being established. Getting acquainted with the Anti-Corruption functions of the State Supervision Service, we notice that, in terms of the law, their function is oversight. In other words, the service does not have the tools to combat corruption through the law. Particularly, the service may examine the documents, identify violations and present them to the anti-corruption structures. The State Supervision Service has limited powers. That service is not the body, which should fight against corruption. Details are available here (https://www.1in.am/2364008.html).
