The “Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion” project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the OCSE Yerevan office and implemented by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO and the partner organization “Freedom of Information Center” NGO. Project duration is 3 years.
Duration: 08 January, 2014 – 31 December, 2016.
The initial budget of the project was € 650,000 euros, of which € 585,000 euros should have been provided by the EU.
The final budget of the project was € 643,960, of which 579,564 euros was provided by the EU, and € 31,277 euros was provided by the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
The project aims to increase the role of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in promoting anti-corruption reforms and their implementation. Trainings aimed to enhance the monitoring and watchdog capacities of the CSOs and Media Organizations will be organized in Yerevan and in the RA marzes for local SCOs and Media.
Establishment of the Anti-Corruption Coalition will increase in the effectiveness of public scrutiny of the anti-corruption reforms of the RA Government’s programme and the 2012-2016 Strategic Programme for Legal and Judicial Reforms in the Republic of Armenia. Small grants will be provided to CSOs and media organizations to undertake monitoring, watchdog activities and journalistic investigations.
A sustainable dialogue between CSOs and the Government will be developed with the participation of CSOs, to strengthen the anti-corruption institutional mechanisms and to establish a single, independent anti-corruption agency with the participation of CSOs, and to criminalize Article 20 (Illicit Enrichment) of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption in Armenia.
Small grants will be given to CSOs and Media organizations for raising the effectiveness of public monitoring and implementation of appropriate monitoring, watchdog and investigative activities.
The project section on www.iravaban.net has been created in the framework of the project. The section will publicize the activities carried out in the project framework as well as carry out the observation of anti-corruption reforms of the RA Government’s programme and the 2012-2016 Strategic Programme for Legal and Judicial Reforms in the Republic of Armenia.
