On 13 May 2017, the EU Delegation in Armenia organized an event in Vanadzor City within the framework of the celebration of Europe Day in Armenia.
The celebration of Europe Day in Vanadzor was launched with the welcoming speeches of the Mayor Mamikon Aslanyan and the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia Ambassador Piotr Świtalski. The welcoming speeches were followed by the Info Fair of projects supported by the European Union that are implemented in Armenia. During the Info Fair, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski and Mayor of Gyumri City toured the pavilions and spoke with the representatives of the organizations that implement the projects.
Lori marz Branch of the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” participated in the Info Fair which was held in Hayk Square of Vanadzor City as well. The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO in cooperation with its partners; Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organization, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia was represented in the pavilion.
The overall objective of the Project is to strengthen the capacity and the mechanisms of public monitoring of CSOs which work in 9 different areas.
The overall objective of the Project is to enhance the influence of CSOs on the public policy process in 9 target areas of the project, and the specific objectives are to strengthen the ability of CSOs to build coalitions and to strengthen the ability of CSOs to focus on constructive and strategic policy engagement with local and central government partners.
Celebration of Europe Day in Vanadzor ended with a festive concert.
