The 9th Global Summit of the Open Government Partnership took place

Syuzanna Soghomonyan, Programs Director of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, participated in the 9th Global Summit of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) on October 7-9, 2025, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Kingdom of Spain.

The summit brought together around 2,000 representatives from governments, local authorities, legislative bodies, and civil society organizations.

At the panel discussion on “Protecting Whistleblowers & Strengthening Oversight: Building Trust & Impact,” Syuzanna Soghomonyan spoke about the work carried out in the direction of developing the whistleblowing system in Armenia, systemic issues that still requires solutions, as well as the haytnir.am alternative whistleblowing platform created and operated by the Association.

As a reminder, more than 75 countries and 104 local governments are members of the Open Government Partnership initiative. The Government of the Republic of Armenia has been a member since 2011. The communities of Vanadzor, Gyumri, Armavir, and Yerevan have joined the Local Open Government initiative.
