Disinformation Resilience Academy Participants Meet with Leading Field Experts

From September 23-26, the Disinformation Resilience Academy conducted its practical skills development phase through a series of meetings with local and international experts.

The phase began with a course by Anush Martirosyan, President of “Media for Education” NGO, on “How to Distinguish Information from Propaganda.” Through practical assignments, participants learned to recognize propaganda techniques and differentiate them from objective reporting.

The next meeting was held with Melanya Harutyunyan, expert at the Department of Participatory and Open Governance Issues of the Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, where transparent governance mechanisms and civic participation in combating disinformation were discussed.

On September 24, Areg Tadevosyan, the President of “Intercultural Studies and Development” NGO presented online about the role of artificial intelligence in spreading and countering disinformation. Participants learned about modern methods for recognizing AI-generated content and detecting deepfake technologies.

The phase’s concluding meeting on September 26 was conducted with Julieta Matevosyan, Head of the Registry Management and Monitoring Department at the Personal Data Protection Agency. During the online discussion, participants learned about the importance of personal data protection in the context of information security and became familiar with relevant legal mechanisms.

The practical phase gave participants the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real situations and receive immediate feedback from experienced specialists. The Academy will continue with a mentorship support phase, where participants will implement group projects under the guidance of experienced mentors.
