Descriptive Statistics and Cost Analysis Tools: Regular Training Sessions for Young Specialists and CSOs/Media were held

On 21 March, 2025, regular training sessions in the framework of the second stream of training programs for young specialists and CSOs/Media representatives on the topic “Descriptive Statistics and Cost Analysis Tools” were held within the framework of the “Budgets for Citizens” project.

Ms Yelena Manukyan, expert of the Economic Development and Research Center conducted the training. She presented in detail various types of data: time series, spatial and panel data. The expert explained how to correctly classify the tax revenue indicators of different countries and how to analyze them in time and space.

The mechanisms of the impact of public spending and taxes on economic growth were discussed during the trainings as well. Participants learned how the state can stimulate the economic growth by increasing public spending or cutting taxes, as well as analyze the strong and weak effects of these tools.

The theoretical part was followed by interactive practical work, during which the participants applied the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice. They considered various descriptive statistics, analyzed tax data, and estimated the impact of various public policy instruments.

During the training, participants completed pre- and post-evaluation tests to assess the knowledge and skills they acquired. The tests included questions on data types, multipliers, marginal propensity to consume, and descriptive statistics.

The “Budgets 4 Citizens” (B4C) action (8 December, 2022 – 7 December, 2026) is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, in cooperation with partners “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic).
