Preparatory Meeting for the Establishment of a Network of CSOs for the Protection of the Rights of Forcibly Displaced Persons from Artsakh

On 27 February, the preparatory online meeting for the establishment of the Network of CSOs for the Protection of the Rights of Forcibly Displaced Persons from Artsakh was held within the framework of the “Strengthening of Rights Protection Mechanisms of Forcibly Displaced Persons from Nagorno Karabakh” implemented by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association. It should be noted that the project is being implemented on the basis of the sub-grant agreement under the “Justice Reforms Monitoring in Armenia” program implemented with the financial support of the European Union.

At the beginning, all the CSOs participating in the discussion made introductory remarks regarding the activities and goals of their organizations, and also highlighted the main problems of Artsakh Armenians.

Further, referring to the program, ALA President Karen Zadoyan presented the goals and actions of the project to the participants. After that an effective discussion on the issue took place.

Emphasizing the joint work within the framework of the project, Karen Zadoyan raised the importance of creating an informal Network of CSOs for the Protection of the Rights of Forcibly Displaced Persons from Artsakh (hereinafter referred to as the Network) and then presented the draft regulations of the Network to the members. The participants discussed the provisions of the regulation as well.

In the concluding part of the meeting, the definition of the founding day of the Network was discussed; in particular it was decided to convene the founding conference of the Network on 12 March of this year.
