ALA hosted the Children from Artamet and Talvorik

On 31 May, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association hosted the children from the Artamet and Talvorik communities of Armavir marz. Mr. Karen Zadoyan, president of the ALA, Coordinator of the Secretariat of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, spoke with them about national values, standards of effective management, anti-corruption institutional system, anti-corruption fight and anti-corruption education.

During this visit, they engaged in a practical exercise called the “Integrity & Anti-Corruption Challenge: Game of Values,” which was designed by the organization to instill values of integrity and anti-corruption among youngsters. Children divided into several teams mentioned the primary values for them. As a result, the most important values such as honesty were chosen by the teams.

Afterward, the advanced module of the “Training on the “Alphabet of Law” took place. The event featured interactive lectures by attorneys Mariam Zadoyan and Syuzanna Soghomonyan. The lectures covered important topics, including “Children’s & Women’s Rights” and “Democracy: What if Everyone Obeys the Laws.” Practical exercises during these sessions allowed the participants to apply their knowledge and deepen their understanding of legal concepts.

The latter was followed by Interactive Lecture on “Media Literacy”. Alisa Chilingaryan, Editor-in-chief of http://Iravaban.net media outlet, shared valuable insights into media literacy, fact-checking methods, and the importance of safeguarding privacy when dealing with private information.

Official Ceremony of handling certificates followed which added a sense of achievement and recognition to the participants, acknowledging their dedication to enhancing their legal knowledge and skills.


The study visit was organized under the “EU4Artamet&Tavlorik” initiative which is a comprehensive capacity-building project aimed at empowering youth (aged 13-16) in marginalized areas of the Armavir region. Through interactive training, coaching, and informative sessions, the initiative equips participants with essential soft skills, legal literacy, and knowledge of educational and career opportunities, fostering personal growth, empowerment, and a sense of responsibility for a brighter future. The initiative is implemented by Mariam Zadoyan under the EU-financed “EU4YouthAlumni Network” project.
