On the initiative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, today, on 14 February, focus group discussions were held on action 4 arising from the Implementation Action Plan of the Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Armenia for 2019-2022.
The first of the discussions was held with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Justice, the Civil Service Bureau of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, and the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.
The second discussion was held with the representatives of CSOs, advocacy and legal community.
It should be noted that according to the strategy, several actions (42-47 actions) are envisaged by the Public Awareness and Anti-Corruption Education measure, which are:
- Elaboration, approval and implementation of a perogramme of an annual public awareness campaign.
- 43. Inclusion of the subject “Fundamentals of Anti-Corruption Policy” in the instruction modules of all higher education and vocational education institutions.
- 44. Providing anti-corruption education in high school.
- Public awareness raising on the reforms being implemented in the system of civil service, conducting trainings, including the topics of prevention corruption, integrity and human rights.
- Elaboration of distance learning modules for civil servants.
- On-line broadcast of the stage of testing of competitions for filling vacant positions.
It should be added that 6 discussions on the first measure of the Anti-Corruption Strategy: the development of the anti-corruption institutional system and the actions stemming from it, were held on 9, 10 and 11 February.
A total of 12 similar discussions have already taken place on the Judicial and Legal Reform Strategy.
