On 4 September, 2021, the European Union and the Council of Europe, within the framework of the “Partnership for Good Governance 2019-2021” program, held expert discussions in Yerevan on “The Procedural Safeguards and Protection against Undue Interferences for Lawyers in Armenia “.
The objective of the meeting focused on strengthening the cooperation between the bar associations and law societies of the five participating countries (Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) with a view to improving the internal functioning and independence of the bars in accordance with the Council of Europe standards and recommendations and as a result to come up with joint proposals to improve the problems.
Among others, the lawyers of the Armenian Lawyers Association and the Armenian Young Lawyers Association were present at the discussion as well.
The meeting was held in the format of mutual questions, suggestions and observations.
