Students of YSU Ijjan branch, Gyumri branch of European University and other universities got acquainted with the new anti-corruption program

An open online seminar was held on 13 July within the framework of the awareness raising on the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project implemented by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association ( ALA .

Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, made a welcoming speech, presenting to the participants the work done by the ALA for more than a decade in the fight against corruption, as well as urging the participants to participate in the program.

“In general, the fight against corruption requires a number of important anti-corruption circumstances. The first is the high political will; the second is the participation of citizens in the fight against corruption.; and the third is the institutional system, an organizational system, that is, the tools with which we can fight corruption,” Karen Zadoyan said.

Afterwards, the representatives of Shirak and Lori marzes made a welcoming speech. They encouraged the students’ involvement in the program, assuring them that they would acquire the necessary knowledge during the program.

During the seminar, Ms Mariam Zakaryan, representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, presented the “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project, and answered the participants’ questions.

Mariam Zakaryan also handed over the application to the participants to the program, noting that the deadline is set for 1 August, at 11:59 p.m.

More than a dozen students participated in the awareness seminar. Most of the students were from the Ijevan branch of Yerevan State University.

The “Youth4Anti-Corruption” project is supported by the Government of Sweden.
