Recommendations and Observations of the ALA and CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia on the draft laws on establishing the anti-corruption judicial system in Armenia

On 31 July, 2020, a package of draft laws on Amendments to the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia “Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia”, on Making Amendments to the Constitutional Law “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”, the package of draft constitutional laws of the Republic of Armenia and related laws envisages the establishment of a specialized anti-corruption judicial system was published. The draft stipulates that the court will consist of at least 25 judges, 20 of which will hear cases on corruption crimes provided for in Annex 6 of the RA Criminal Code, and 5 – on applications based on the Law on Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin and cases arising from lawsuits.
