Only in July, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association provided Free Consultations to about 180 Citizens

The Armenian Lawyers’ Association (ALA) issued a statement on 23 March stating that taking into account the state of emergency in the Republic of Armenia due to the coronavirus, which was declared in 16 March, and a number of restrictions on labor issues, will provide free legal advice on labor relations to the citizens who will present their issues to the organization.

As the received questions in addition to  labor relations, also referred to other spheres, taking into account the state of emergency, the ALA supported the citizens who applied with other issues as well.

Within this framework, from 16 March until today, the answers addressed to the citizens by the lawyers of the structure are already almost 1500.

In addition to the ALA Yerevan office, consultations were provided by the regional offices as well. The coordinators of the offices of Vanadzor, Shirak and Syunik marzes of the organization were also involved in this work.

In addition to questions the organization also received complaints and suggestions from the citizens. If in the beginning the questions referred mainly to the situation created by the epidemic, then to the neutralization programs adopted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, now the active questions are asked about each legislative change adopted by the National Assembly. In particular, this month most questions were related to changes in maternity benefits and child care that came into force on July 1.

Summing up the month of July, 2020, it became clear that in the period of the 1st to the 31st of the month, including, the ALA lawyers provided free legal advice to 180 legal entities and individuals.
