A strange situation has been created around the Constitutional Court. President Armen Sarkissian did not sign the legislative packages, and the President did not give public explanations as to why. The impression is that in parallel with the political settlement of the Constitutional Court, the issue remains legally pending.
First News spoke with attorney Mr. Tigran Yegoryan and Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.
“It is surprising why the President of the Republic of Armenia refuses to exercise his powers,” Karen Zadoyan said, adding that the President must perform his duties accurately and in a timely manner, as not signing it leaves uncertainty.
