The Government-Civil Society Discussion on the Roadmap for the Implementation of Title 3 (Justice, Freedom, and Security) of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement took place at the MFA

On 30 April 2019, representative of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia Artyom Mesropyan, Chairman of the Human Rights Protection Coalition Zhanna Aleksanyan, and President of the “Support to Probation” National Network Artak Kirakosyan, who also represented the Constructive Dialogue Network of CSOs of Armenia, participated in the Government-Civil Society discussion on the Draft Roadmap of Applying Title 3 of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (Justice, Freedom, Security) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Avet Adonts, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Vigen Kocharyan Deputy Minister of Justice; Ms Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs; Mr. Sedrak, Head of Staff of the Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan; Mr. Hovhannes Kocharyan Deputy Chief of Police; Mr. Armen Ghazaryan Head of Migration Service of Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development of the Republic of Armenia as well as about a dozen representatives of civil society other officials took part in the discussion.

The discussion covered the following CEPA articles: Title 3 Article 12 ((“Rule of Law and Respect for Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms”), Article 14 (“Cooperation on migration, asylum and border management”) and Article 15 (“Movement of persons and readmission”), as well as Title 2 (Political Dialogue and Reform: Cooperation in the Field of Foreign and Security Policy”), Article 4 (“Domestic reform”). Officials from relevant areas presented the steps to be taken for the implementation of provisions of those areas. In their turn, the civil society representatives raised their concerns and came up with a vision for solving a number of issues.

At the end of the session, the willingness to continue discussions in such a format was reinstated.
