Ms. Mariam Zadoyan, lawyer, Member of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association in the interview to “Legal Week” program of Iravaban.net website referred to the “Draft RA Law on making Amendments and Addenda to the RA Law on Trade Unions”. In particular she raised the concerns about the proposed regulations on how persons of different professions would unite in the framework of one trade union and how they would protect the labour rights of different professionals, in case where detection of alleged violations is conditioned by the availability of professional knowledge.
Mariam Zadoyan also presented a number of recommendations related to the accountability of trade unions, raising the level of involvement of women and youth, and others which were prepared as a result of summarising the results of the Government-Civil Society Organisations Dialogue forum entitled “Current State and Development Prospects of Trade Unions” was held on 31 July, 2018 within the framework of the EU-funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project. The forum was organised by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia.
