“Aravot” talked about the current anti-corruption fight and the RA Government’s anti-corruption program with Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, Coordinator of Secretariat of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia,
Touching upon the structure of the anti-corruption section of the Government Program, Mr. Zadoyan noted that from the methodological aspect it is not properly structured based on the three main pillars that define the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures: anti-corruption education, corruption prevention and the function of punishing, and thus it can be concluded that no systematic approach has been applied. Second, the section does not provide clarity the regulations related to the introduction of an anti-corruption institutional system in the fight against corruption and the strategic priorities of the new anti-corruption policy.
According to Mr. Zadoyan, the real and systemic fight against corruption implies high political will, the direct involvement of the citizen in this fight, an independent and effective institutional system and building the fight against corruption on three main pillars: education, prevention and punishment.
