The National Network “Support to Probation” Was Presented to the Participants of the Gyumri CSO Incubator

On 20 July, the national network “Support to Probation” was presented to the participants of the Gyumri CSO incubator in the scope of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project funded by the European Union. Possibilities of cooperation with CSOs were also discussed.

The seminar was conducted by “A Step towards Just Armenia” project lawyer Ms. Evgenia Ivanova.

The speaker presented the problems existing in the field. She noted that it was expected to create an observation body for supporting and controlling the activities of the probation service.

The participants were interested in the following: the way it is decided that a person who has committed a crime and served his/her sentence is fixed, the kinds of research and methods applied to prevent repetition in actions of persons committing offenses, etc. Ms. Ivanova clarified the questions raised by CSO representatives, in addition to presenting the nuances in the field.
