Today, a working meeting of the members of the EU Funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project and Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Armenian National Platform took place in Yerevan.
Representatives of 5 sectoral working groups of EAP CSF Armenian National Platform and Ms Heriknaz Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the CSF ANP Secretariat attended the meeting.
Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, who facilitated the meeting had prepared a presentation about the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project which is implemented by a Consortium of six organizations.
Mr. Zadoyan presented the project and its objectives. “The specific objectives are to strengthen the ability of CSOs to build coalitions/networks; participate in public police development processes; identification of the issues in target sectors and development of appropriate public policies; as well as constructive and strategic cooperation with the local and central government partners in policy development process,” Mr. Zadoyan said.
After the presentation there was a discussion about the program. Karen Zadoyan answered the questions then smoothly turned them into a serious discussion of the issue. As a result, a number of issues in public policy development and implementation in the field of control, the areas of dialogue with the government were raised. Sectoral issues were identified as well, and other important and topical issues for the public were separated.
Members of EAP working group presented the issues in their areas, stressing the importance of forming coalitions and ensuring their sustainability.
The “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO in cooperation with its partners; Agora Central Europe o.p.s (an NGO from the Czech Republic), Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS, “International Center for Human Development” Public Organization, SME Cooperation Association and Union of Communities of Armenia.
