{"id":9811,"date":"2026-03-24T11:40:56","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T07:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=9811"},"modified":"2026-03-25T09:04:05","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T05:04:05","slug":"new-sub-grants-to-foster-strong-communities-and-responsible-budgeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/9811.html","title":{"rendered":"New Sub-Grants to Implement Advocacy Campaigns in Targeted Areas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On 20 March, 2026, a ceremonial signing of advocacy sub-grant agreements with representatives of civil society, as well as the mandatory one-day training for sub-grantees, took place within the framework of the \u201cBudgets for Citizens\u201d programme, which is implemented by the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d with the financial support of the European Union and in cooperation with partners \u201cEconomic Development and Research Center\u201d and AGORA Central Europe NGO.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mr. Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association NGO and \u201cBudgets for Citizens\u201d Project Manager, as well as Ms Lilit Hakobyan, representative of the Economic Development and Research Center NGO welcomed the participants. They emphasized the importance of participation of the civil society in the state budgeting process, noting that sub-grant projects are aimed at promoting public participation, accountability, and transparency across various sectors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">During the ceremony, contract agreements were signed with a number of civil society organizations that will implement the following sub-grant projects:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>\u201cCompass\u201d Scientific-Research, Educational and Consulting Center NGO \u2013 \u201cAdvocacy for increased Public Participation and Improved Accountability in Higher Education Budgeting in Armenia\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u201cBusiness and Education Association\u201d Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 &#8220;Implementation of an Advocacy Campaign in the Social Protection Sector&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u201cArmenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS\u201d Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 &#8220;Improving Third-Cycle Higher Education: A Meaningful Credit System&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;NGO Center&#8221; Civil Society Development Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 &#8220;The Social Budget: Citizens\u2019 Voices Matter&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCivil Society Institute\u201d Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 \u201cStrengthening Sustainable Financing and Effective Commissioning of Rehabilitative Services in the Prison and Probation Sectors&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u201cRegional Development and Research Center\u201d Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 \u201cThe Value of Care and the Public Budget\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u201cSME Cooperation Association\u201d Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 \u201cFood Security Budget and Risk Recommendations: Poultry Sector\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAssociation of Young Journalists\u201d Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 &#8220;Advocacy to promote state\u2013civil society cooperation in the framework of public support programs in the agricultural sector&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Human Rights Defense NGO \u201cHouse of Justice\u201d \u2013 &#8220;Promoting effective budget management and transparency in public procurement&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cBLEJAN\u201d Ecological, social, business support Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 \u201cReforms in the Food Safety System and Promotion of Safe Poultry Consumption in Armenia&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSuccess Lady&#8221; Youth Non-Governmental Organization \u2013 \u201cWomen without Targeting\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A training session, during which the organizers presented the main requirements for programmatic and financial management of sub-grant projects, was organized for sub-grantees in the second part of the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan, Advocacy Expert of the \u201cBudgets for Citizens\u201d programme, representative of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association NGO conducted the training on programmatic implementation.
