On January 13, 2026, an event was held within the framework of the \u201cBudgets for Citizens\u201d project, featuring the \u201cSmart Budget\u201d sub-grant project implemented by the \u201cImprove Our Village\u201d NGO.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by Lianna Sargsyan, Chief Specialist of the Livestock Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Ruzanna Martirosyan, Chief Specialist of the Environment and Agriculture Department of the Kotayk Regional Administration, representatives of local self-government bodies of Kotayk region, Artak Saribekyan, representative of the \u201cBudgets for Citizens\u201d project, as well as volunteers, students, and farmers.<\/p>\n
The event opened with welcoming remarks delivered by Anahit Tovmasyan, Project Manager of the \u201cSmart Budget\u201d sub-grant project, Artak Saribekyan, representative of the \u201cBudgets for Citizens\u201d project, and Lianna Sargsyan, Chief Specialist of the Livestock Department of the Ministry of Economy. They highlighted the importance of collaboration among civil society, public authorities, and sector stakeholders in improving transparency, efficiency, and accountability of budgetary processes in the livestock sector.<\/p>\n
During the event, project experts presented the main achievements of the project, the results of the monitoring carried out, and recommendations aimed at improving the livestock sector. At the same time, participating farmers voiced the existing challenges in the sector and shared practical proposals for the development of livestock management.<\/p>\n
The event served as an important platform for discussing how civil oversight and public participation can contribute to more effective, targeted, and citizen-responsive public policy in the livestock sector.<\/p>\n
