On 11 July, at 11.00 a.m. the project lawyer \u00a0provided free legal assistance to the forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh currently living in Khoy Community of Geghakert village. Free legal assistance was provided in the scope of the \u201cStrengthening of Rights Protection Mechanisms of Forcibly Displaced Persons from Nagorno Karabakh\u201d Project.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Marianna Avagyan, the lawyer of the Project, clarified a number of issues of concern to the people of Artsakh, which were mainly related to social assistance programs provided to forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh, the procedure for restoring the birth certificate, obtaining a temporary protection (refugee) certificate, leaving the “black list” of the banks and with the provision of unpaid pensions for the past months.<\/p>\n
Ms Julietta Arustamyan, Executive Director of \u201cHarmony\u201d Shushi Women NGO, who is the Chairwoman of the Governing Board of the Network of CSOs for the Protection of the Rights of Forcibly Displaced from Nagorno-Krabakh, took part in the meeting as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrengthening of Rights Protection Mechanisms of Forcibly Displaced Persons from Nagorno Karabakh\u201d Project is implemented by the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO in cooperation with partner \u201cHarmony\u201d Shushi Women NGO in the framework of the \u201cJustice Reforms Monitoring in Armenia\u201d (<\/em>www.juremonia.am<\/a>)\u00a0program\u00a0implemented with the financial support of the European Union.<\/em><\/p>\n The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the integration of FDPs from NK into their new communities of residence in Armenia, enhancing access to justice and raising the level of legal awareness by strengthening their rights protection mechanisms,\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n This publication has been produced with the financial assistance of the European Union.
