Since 1 May 2014, the \u201cArmenian Young Lawyers Association\u201d NGO in cooperation with the \u201cGeorgian Young Lawyers Association\u201d NGO, and \u201cAgora Central Europe\u201d NGO from Czech Republic started implementation of\u00a0 \u201cCitizens\u2019 Participation in the Decision Making Processes of Local Self-Governance Bodies: Introduction of EU Experience\u201d project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n
The official opening ceremony of the project took place on 21 May, in the AYLA Central Office in Yerevan.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would like to mention that AYLA attaches much importance to the partnership of Armenian, Georgian and Czech Civil Society Organizations\u2019 in such format in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. I believe, this trilateral program will be a step forward to ensure further development of our partnership and cooperation,\u201d Karen Zadoyan, President of the Armenian Young lawyers Association mentioned in his speech.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe goal of this project is to let people know their rights and to give them tools and leverages how to implement them,\u201d Mr. Mikyska, Charge d’Affaires of the Czech Republic said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a great honor to us to be in Armenia and to participate in this meeting in the framework of this project. I would like to once again express gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for the support to this project,\u201d Ketevan Bebiashvili, Head of Gori Office of the \u201cGeorgian Young Lawyers Association\u201d NGO said.<\/p>\n
The welcome speeches were followed by a two-day seminar conducted by the experts from Czech Republic. Representatives from of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association and Georgian Young Lawyers Association the participated in the seminar.<\/p>\n
The project aims to raise the level of the citizen\u2019s participation in the decision making processes of the Local Self-Governance Bodies in Armenia and in Georgia, and implementation of public control over the activities of Local Self Government Bodies using best practices of the European Union in this sphere.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
