{"id":5452,"date":"2020-01-30T10:31:50","date_gmt":"2020-01-30T06:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=5452"},"modified":"2020-01-30T16:00:17","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T12:00:17","slug":"ala-disproves-the-organization-does-not-receive-funding-from-the-state-budget","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/5452.html","title":{"rendered":"ALA disproves: The Organization does not receive Funding from the State Budget"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As we have <a href=\"https:\/\/iravaban.net\/en\/255202.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">already informed<\/a>, today, on January 29, The Ministry of Justice <a href=\"http:\/\/moj.am\/article\/2623?fbclid=IwAR0iTMzIBcNhLG6CkD5nWi8Shktgk_J_ZCI79dcLr7aRRtwPvjxeLAYrC40\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced the results<\/a> of the election of the candidates for the members of the Professional Commission on Constitutional Reform, who are legal scholars and representatives of non-governmental organizations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">According to the publication, Karen Zadoyan representing the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d Non-Governmental Organization and Daniel Ioannisyan representing the Union of Informed Citizens\u201d consulting NGO were elected members of the Commission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">After receiving this information, Arpine Hovhannisyan, a former candidate for a member of the Specialized Commission on Constitutional Reform, a legal scholar in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/hraparak.am\/post\/6d70e1cb36f917b293dc8d7eae2e4324?fbclid=IwAR2x7V7o2AFyEZgVbIPZDkAsRf01y9EgpB10asqyANQm9Reo-bHlb690o-o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hraparak.am<\/a>, in response to a journalist&#8217;s question on how she assesses the composition of the commission, said: \u201cAs regards the composition of the commission, I highly appreciate the professional knowledge of all of them and the experience of the constitutional processes of two members of the commission, Anahit Manasyan and Armen Mazmanyan. As for NGOs, these are loyal NGOs that are funded by the government and so on, and there is not much to add here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In response to a question of <a href=\"https:\/\/iravaban.net\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Iravaban.net<\/a>, Artak Saribekyan, Executive Director of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association noted that the information published is not true and the association does not receive any funding from the state budget. As for being \u201cloyal NGOs to the authorities\u201d, he noted: \u201cThe Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association is an independent, sovereign professional body which, if necessary, on a professional platform, has been critical of and criticizes both the former and the current political authorities. If necessary, we also provide the government with professional, expert opinions and advice to resolve legal issues in the country, working with the political authorities in a constructive dialogue format.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Artak Saribekyan also added that the candidacy of the President of ALA Karen Zadoyan as a member of the Professional Committee on Constitutional Reform has been nominated and supported by the <a href=\"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/5377.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/5380.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Constructive Dialogue Network of Armenian CSOs<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we have already informed, today, on January 29, The Ministry of Justice announced the results of the election of the candidates for the members of the Professional Commission on Constitutional Reform, who are legal scholars and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
