{"id":5259,"date":"2019-12-19T18:06:30","date_gmt":"2019-12-19T14:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=5259"},"modified":"2019-12-19T18:44:11","modified_gmt":"2019-12-19T14:44:11","slug":"governing-board-of-the-csos-anti-corruption-coalition-of-armenia-elected-the-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/5259.html","title":{"rendered":"Governing Board of the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia elected the Chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On 19 December, the first meeting of the new composition of the Governing Board of the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, chaired by Coordinator of the Coalition Secretariat Karen Zadoyan was held.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Notably, at a joint event on 9 December, dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day, which was organized by the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association and the Armenian Civil Society Organizations Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, the Coalition held a meeting where it was decided that the Governing Board should consist of 9 members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As a result, the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition Governing Board was composed of 9 members.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>\u00a0\u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d, represented by Mr. Karen Zadoyan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cUnion of Advanced Technology Enterprises\u201d, represented by Mr. Arkadi Sahakyan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cNGO Center\u201d Civil Society Development NGO, represented by Ms Arpine Hakobyan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cArmenian Association of Young Doctors\u201d, represented by Mr. Gevorg Grigoryan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cRight and Freedom Center\u201d represented by Ms Sona Harutyunyan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCenter for Economic Rights\u201d represented by Mr. Movses Aritsakesyan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cTukhmanuk Human Rights and Education Center\u201d represented by Ms Mary Chakhoyan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cUnion of Communities of Armenia\u201d represented by Mr. Emin Yeritsyan,<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSupport for Equal Opportunities Foundation\u201d represented by Mr. Hayk Margaryan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Eight members of the Governing Board attended the meeting, one by power of attorney and the other by telephone.\u00a0The quorum was ensured.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The first issue was the election of the Chairman of the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition.\u00a0It was noted that this time, gender equality would be given preference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ms Arpine Hakobyan, a representative of the \u201cNGO Center\u201d Civil Society Development NGO, who participated in the meeting by telephone connection due to health conditions was nominated to the post of the Chairman. Ms Mariam Chakhoyan, representative of \u201cTukhmanuk Human Rights and Education Center\u201d NGO, also nominated herself as a candidate for the Chairman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">By the\u00a0<strong>unanimous decision<\/strong>\u00a0of the current members of the Governing Board\u00a0<strong>, Arpine Hakobyan was appointed Chairman of the Coalition Governing Board for a six-month term, and Mariam Chakhoyan will chair the next six months.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The second issue was related to the forming of an expert team of the Coalition.\u00a0Marat Atovmyan, Suzanna Soghomonyan, Gohar Ghazinyan, Mariam Zadoyan, Artyom Mesropyan, Narek Yenokyan, and Ashot Melkonyan were included in the expert team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Governing Board discussed and approved the draft statement on the need to accelerate the process of transitional justice in Armenia, the final version of which, after being edited by the coalition secretariat, will be circulated among the media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">______________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>The Civil Society Organizations Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia was founded on 28 November, 2014.\u00a0Currently, about 70 CSOs are members of the anti-corruption coalition.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>The mission of the Anti-Corruption Coalition is to promote the eradication of corruption in Armenia by creating based on the personal example, the demand for good governance among the public at large and public servants, by introducing anti-corruption strategies in public and private institutions.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 19 December, the first meeting of the new composition of the Governing Board of the CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia, chaired by Coordinator of the Coalition Secretariat Karen Zadoyan was held.
