{"id":4870,"date":"2019-10-01T18:39:56","date_gmt":"2019-10-01T14:39:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=4870"},"modified":"2019-10-03T12:04:50","modified_gmt":"2019-10-03T08:04:50","slug":"election-of-the-eiti-civil-society-group-representatives-took-place-ala-representative-gohar-ghazinyan-received-the-majority-of-votes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/4870.html","title":{"rendered":"Election of the EITI Civil Society Group Representatives took place: \u00a0ALA Representative Gohar Ghazinyan, received the Majority of Votes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Electoral Commission for the Representation of the members and alternate members of Civil Society Group of the Multi-Stakeholder Group of the\u00a0Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative of the Republic of Armenia, had presented (published) the list of CSO representatives nominated by the CSOs and self-nominated alternate members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">CSOs and foundations registered in the Republic of Armenia that have publicly and regularly expressed a position on other EITI related mining policy issues in the last 3 years could be nominated as CSO candidates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The CSG is formed through the election of CSG candidates\u2019 representatives through secret ballot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On October 1, the CSG representatives were elected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Composition of candidates running for elections:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><strong>\u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO \u2013 Ms Gohar Ghazinyan, candidate for a member or alternate member,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cTransparency International Anti-Corruption Center\u201d NGO \u2013 Ms Sona Ayvazyan, candidate for a member or alternative member,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cForests of Armenia\u201d Environmental NGO \u2013 Ms Nazeli Vardanyan , candidate for a member or alternative member,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cEcoLur Informational\u201d NGO \u2013 Ms Victoria Burnazyan, candidate for alternate member<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<em>Regional Non-Governmental Organization<\/em><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><strong>\u201cCommunity Mobilization and Support Center&#8217; NGO \u2013 Mr. Oleg Dulgaryan, candidate for a member or alternate member.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0<em>Scientific community<\/em><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><strong>Chair of Regional Geology and Mineral Exploration of the YSU \u2013 Mr. Harutyun Movsisyan, , candidate for a member or alternate member.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Gohar Ghazinyan, representative of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association, received the highest number of votes (3), Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center representative Sona Ayvazyan received 2 votes, and all other candidates received one vote each.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It should be noted that the CSG should consist of 5 members and a maximum of the same number of alternate members.\u00a0All candidates were selected to represent the Civil Society Group (CSG) of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Electoral Commission for the Representation of the members and alternate members of Civil Society Group of the Multi-Stakeholder Group of the\u00a0Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative of the Republic of Armenia, had presented (published) the list of CSO representatives nominated by the CSOs and self-nominated alternate members.
