{"id":4725,"date":"2019-07-26T18:07:16","date_gmt":"2019-07-26T14:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=4725"},"modified":"2019-08-28T12:57:53","modified_gmt":"2019-08-28T08:57:53","slug":"draft-anti-corruption-strategy-was-discussed-in-vanadzor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/4725.html","title":{"rendered":"Draft Anti-Corruption Strategy was discussed in Vanadzor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On 26 July, 2019, the discussion of the Draft Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Armenia and its Implementation Action Plan for 2019-2022 with participation civil society organisations was held in Vanadzor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The discussion was organised by the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association, CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of EU funded \u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d (CCD) project and \u201cArmenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms\u201d project implemented by the \u201cCenter for International Private Enterprise\u201d (CIPE).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cWe have organised a series of discussions on the Draft Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Armenia and its Implementation Action Plan for 2019-2022 in different marzes and the implementation plan for its implementation.\u00a0The process of formulating anti-corruption strategies in our country started in 2003 and the strategy for 2019-2022 will be the 4th and one of its key differences is that it goes through public discussion,\u201d Mr. Marat Atovmyan, Mentors Group Coordinator of the \u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d Project, Mentor of Justice and Related Sectors said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ms Srbuhi Galyan, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia thanked for organising such discussions, stressing their importance.\u00a0&#8220;The peculiarity of this anti-corruption strategy is that it contains an analysis of past information.\u00a0An assessment of past anti-corruption strategies has been made and the draft has identified the positive and negative aspects of those strategies.\u201d the Deputy Minister said, presenting the general directions of the strategy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mr. Artyom Mesropyan, Coordinator of Justice and Related Spheres of the CCD Project, outlined the process of developing the document, what is to be expected with the adoption of this strategy, and what solutions the state proposes to eliminate institutional corruption from the country.\u00a0&#8220;If we talk about the past, it should be emphasized that some actions had been taken during the rather than no actions had been undertaken before the revolution, but however there was no political will.\u00a0Today, the government has that political will and in order to fight corruption effectively, revolutionary approaches and new solutions are needed, so that the mistakes made by the former powers are not repeated,&#8221; Artyom Mesropyan said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Notably, similar discussions have already been organised in <a href=\"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/4588.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gyumri<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/4704.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gavar\u00a0<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 26 July, 2019, the discussion of the Draft Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Armenia and its Implementation Action Plan for 2019-2022 with participation civil society organisations was held in Vanadzor.
