{"id":3538,"date":"2018-12-19T21:37:08","date_gmt":"2018-12-19T17:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=3538"},"modified":"2019-11-27T16:28:31","modified_gmt":"2019-11-27T12:28:31","slug":"the-third-conference-of-the-armenian-csos-anti-corruption-coalition-was-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/3538.html","title":{"rendered":"The Third Conference of the Armenian CSOs\u2019 Anti-Corruption Coalition was held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Third Conference of the Armenian CSOs\u2019 Anti-Corruption Coalition was held on 19 December, 2018, within the framework of an anti-corruption event dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">President of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association, Coordinator of Secretariat of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition Karen Zadoyan presented the report on the activities of the Armenian CSOs\u2019 Anti-Corruption Coalition for the period of 21.07.2017-31.10.2018. After the discussions the report was adopted. Further, Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan and Mr. Marat Atovmyan, the representatives of the Coalition and\u00a0 Ms. Mariam Zadoyan,\u00a0 the representatives of the Coalition and Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellow, presented the Coalition\u2019s Strategy for 2019-2023, which also was confirmed after the discussions. The Strategy reflects the strategic goals, objectives and action plan of the Coalition. The 3 main goals are:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Increase the effectiveness of public monitoring of the government anti-corruption reforms by civil society organizations (hereinafter CSOs).<\/li>\n<li>Promote the development and implementation of effective policies and mechanisms for the elimination of corruption; promote the development of integrity, and the accountable, and professional governance system.<\/li>\n<li>Promote to the formation and rooting of public perception of corruption as a threat for the society; formation of the attitude of intolerance and resistance towards corruption; formation of demand for honest management among the public and raising public awareness through reopening and operation of the anti-corruption centers based on anti-corruption education, prevention of corruption and the inevitability of punishment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The main issues here are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>To contribute to the introduction of independent universal anti-corruption professional body in Armenia based on the best international practices:<\/li>\n<li>To contribute to the protection of the whistleblowers\u2019 rights in the Republic of Armenia and the launch of the unified System of Online Whistleblowing Platform:<\/li>\n<li>Further development of the\u00a0anonymous electronic platform for reporting <a href=\"http:\/\/bizprotect.am\/\">bizprotect.am<\/a>:<\/li>\n<li>To contribute to the implementation of the reforms of the institute of illicit enrichment \u00a0and conducting monitoring of cases on illicit enrichment:<\/li>\n<li>To contribute to the introduction of the register of beneficial owners in Armenia based on the best international evidence based practices:<\/li>\n<li>To contribute to the introduction of the Institute for the Restoration of Stolen Assets in Armenia and capacity building of this sector;<\/li>\n<li>Promote implementation of Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs in Armenian Companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Notably, the last issue was implemented by the proposal of the \u201cArmenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms\u201d Project which is implemented by The \u201cCenter for International Private Enterprise\u201d (CIPE), the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO (ALA),\u00a0the \u201cCorporate Governance Center\u201d (CGC), and the \u201cYerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry\u201d (YerCCI).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The elections of the Governing Board of Armenian CSOs Anti-Corruption Coalition took place during the conference as well.\u00a0The number of members of the Coalition\u2019s Governing Board was approved first. Further, the election of the new members of the Governing Board was held.\u00a0Below is the list of the new composition of the Governing Board:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cInternational Center for Human Development\u201d Public Organization,<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cAudio-Visual Journalists Association\u201d NGO<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">&#8220;Territorial Development and Research Center&#8221; NGO<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cArmenian Association of Young Doctors\u201d NGO<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cSmall and Medium Business Fund\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cUnion of Advanced Technology Enterprises\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cAssociation\u00a0of\u00a0Accountants\u00a0of\u00a0SME\u00a0of\u00a0Armenia \u201d NGO<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cAstghatsolk\u201d NGO for Sustainable Development Initiatives<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cKantegh\u201d Human Rights NGO in Gyumri<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0\u201cUnion of Communities of Armenia\u201d<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cCenter of Economic Rights\u201d NGO<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cJournalists for Human Rights\u201d NGO<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This material has been prepared in the scope of the \u201cArmenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms\u201d Project implemented by the \u201cCenter for International Private Enterprise\u201d, the \u201cArmenian Lawyers\u2019 Association\u201d NGO, the \u201cCorporate Governance Center\u201d NGO and the \u201cYerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry\u201d with financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy. The project is implemented as a co-financing to the \u201cCommitment to Constructive Dialogue\u201d action implemented with the financial support of the European Union by a Consortium comprising the &#8220;Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association&#8221; NGO, the &#8220;Armenian Center for Democratic Education-CIVITAS&#8221; NGO, the &#8220;International Center for Human Development&#8221; NGO, the &#8220;SME Cooperation Association&#8221; NGO, the Union of Communities of Armenia, as well as &#8220;Agora Central Europe&#8221; NGO (Czech Republic).
