{"id":3131,"date":"2018-09-27T10:41:24","date_gmt":"2018-09-27T06:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/?p=3131"},"modified":"2018-10-05T16:45:23","modified_gmt":"2018-10-05T12:45:23","slug":"ala-representatives-met-with-the-oecd-sigma-expert-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/armla.am\/en\/3131.html","title":{"rendered":"ALA Representatives met with the OECD SIGMA Expert Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On 26 September, representatives of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association NGO met in the focus group format with the SIGMA Expert Group of the Economic Cooperation and Development Organization.\u00a0The aim of the meeting was to discuss the effectiveness of public sector involvement and tools in the process of developing and adopting public policies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The ALA representatives introduced anti-corruption institutional reforms in Armenia in recent years initiated by the ALA, including criminalization of illicit enrichment, <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-39106 alignright\" style=\"text-align: justify\" src=\"https:\/\/armla.am\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/unnamed.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"335\" height=\"223\" \/>creation of an anti-corruption preventive body, introduction of the whistleblowers\u2019 system, introduction of the beneficial ownership institute in the procurement sector,\u00a0more than\u00a0100\u00a0proposals on business co-operation, some of which have been implemented, and the others are in the implementation phase,\u00a0\u00a0as well as changes and amendments in the property and income declaration system of high-ranking officials. \u00a0The toolkit which ALA used to implement the lobbying and advocacy activities was presented as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The participants also presented the main challenges that currently exist in the process of developing and adopting public policies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 26 September, representatives of the Armenian Lawyers\u2019 Association NGO met in the focus group format with the SIGMA Expert Group of the Economic Cooperation and Development Organization.\u00a0The aim of the meeting was to discuss the effectiveness of public sector involvement and tools in the process of developing and adopting public policies.
